He’s called Mauro, and he is a human being

In The Netherlands many people are very concerned about the fate of an 18 year old boy, called Mauro.

He came to The Netherlerlands from Angeola when he was 10.
He found a foster family that wanted to adopt him, but because the Angolese law states that there should be permission from both parents. They were not available, so the adoption was not granted.

Had he been adopted, his fate would be that he would have been a citizen here and could stay here.

But now they want to deport him to Angola.

He doesn’t speak the language, he doesn’t have anyone who is waiting for him. Yes, there is a mother somewhere, but she doesn’t want him at all.

He has a family here, with a little borther that sure will be traumatized when his big brother will be gone.

Instead of sticking to the importance of human rights the minister wants him to leave. He’s 18 now, so old enough to go.

Nothing else counts.

The discussion about him has been going on for quite some time now.

It’s a kind of psychological torture.

He’s a nice guy. I hope he’s able to stay.
